About Dr. Amit Deveshvar

Our Principal dentist at Holland Park, Dr Amit Deveshvar, graduated as a dentist in India in 1997. Since then, he has worked in 3 countries – India, New Zealand, and Australia – and has incorporated the best that each country has to offer, striving to be an empathetic dentist with exceptional clinical skills.

Adept at treating all age groups and people from all walks of life, Amit (as he likes to be called) goes the extra mile to make children and the elderly feel extra comfortable in his surgery. It is because he feels that one needs extra attention and care at the two extreme spectrums of our lives.

Amit has extensive experience in Australia, first working for Qld Health as the Principal Dentist at the Hervey Bay, Maryborough, and Gayndah Dental Clinics and across their catchment areas. This is where he learnt the finer nuances of dealing with the elderly, especially in devising simple dental treatment plans around the client’s complex medical history, which usually involves multiple illnesses.

Not many know, but Amit is also a Registered Nurse and has worked as an RN at the Royal Brisbane Hospital for nearly 3 years. It is this knowledge, combined with his clinical skills in dentistry, that makes him the ideal person to treat elderly clients in nursing homes.

Amit has also worked with the Australian Army as a dentist in their bases at Oakey and Cabarlah, both near Toowoomba. He continues to work part-time for the Army.

Amit also has exceptional skills in treating anxious patients as he is trained to use Relative Analgesia (Happy gas) at the clinic, to keep their anxiety at bay. Apart from other general dental work, Amit has a special interest in surgical cases like removing impacted wisdom teeth.

Amit is also trained in managing patients’ sleep apnoea (Snoring) with a mandibular advancement device.

A keen traveler and photographer in his spare time keeps him occupied and gets his creative juices flowing.
