Dr. Amit Deveshvar
Dentist in Brisbane
Special Interest – Implants and Surgeries
Our Principal dentist at Holland Park, Dr Amit Deveshvar graduated as a dentist in India in 1997. Since then he has worked in 3 countries – India, New Zealand and Australia, and has incorporated the best that each country had to offer and hence strived to be an empathetic dentist with exceptional clinical skills.
Adept at treating all age groups and people from all walks of life, Amit (as he likes to be called) makes that extra effort to make the children and the elderly extra comfortable in his surgery. It is because he feels that one needs extra attention and care at the two extreme spectrums of our life.
Amit has had extensive experience in Australia first working for Qld Health as the Principal Dentist of Hervey Bay, Maryborough and Gayndah Dental Clinics and all the catchment areas within. This is where he learnt the finer nuances of dealing with the elderly, especially devising simple dental treatment plans around the complex medical history of the client who usually suffer from multiple illnesses.
Not many know, but Amit also is a Registered Nurse and has worked as an RN at the Royal Brisbane Hospital for close to three years. It is this knowledge combined with his clinical skills in dentistry which make him the ideal person to treat the elderly clients in the Nursing Homes.
Amit also has worked with the Australian Army as a dentist in their bases at Oakey and Cabarlah, both near Toowoomba. He continues to work part time for the Army.
Amit also has exceptional skills in treating anxious patients as he is trained to use Relative Analgesia (Happy gas) at the clinic, to keep their anxiety at bay. Apart from other general dental work, Amit has a special interest in surgical cases like removing impacted wisdom teeth.
Amit is also trained in managing the patients’ Sleep Apnoea disorder (Snoring) with a mandibular advancement device.
A keen traveler and photographer in his spare time keeps him occupied and gets his creative juices flowing.
